| The Picture Gallery show pictures related to the Finnish overseas migration. Visitors
to www.genealogia.fi can submit their own pictures.
There is an Editor of the Picture Gallery. The Editor decides whether a picture is
published or not. The Editor can deviate from these rules if necessary.
Originals
The originals of the pictures should be photographs, drawings or paintings. Only in
special cases are pictures from printed books, magazines or papers published.
Portraits and Family Pictures
All portraits and family pictures should be at least 70 years old. Only one portrait will
be published of each person.
Copyright
No copyright violations are allowed. According to the Finnish copyright are all pictures
protected by copyright for a period of 50 years. Copyrighted pictures can be published
with permission of the copyright holder. The pictures are protected by copyright according
to Finnish law even if the copyright is not expressed with texts or symbols.
Submit Photos
The width of scanned pictures should be at least about 640 pixels (without
any background). Any common file format is accepted.
