Genealogy Days

The National Genealogy Days are the biggest educational event for genealogists in Finland. It was first organized in Espoo in 1978. Today, the Finnish Genealogical Society organizes it annually in March. The Suku 2023 event in Oulu in March 2023 will be the 45th National Genealogy Days.

The theme of the Suku 2023 event is "Migration Across Borders." Migration is viewed from five geographical viewpoints: Torne River Valley, Kola, Sami, Finnmark and East-Carelia. The event will be held in Oulu. In addition to lectures the program will include, as is tradition, a genealogy-themed exhibition where different groups can present their activities, as well as an opening ceremony on Saturday and a dinner.
