GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY OF FINLAND
The most important publication of the Genealogical Society of Finland is the periodical Genos which began publication in 1930. Genos is published four times a year and from the beginning it has been the central publication platform for Finnish genealogy. Genos publishes well-researched and thorough articles as well as presentations of source materials, reviews and editorials.
Genos publishes findings on family and personal history and articles on sources as well as articles on disciplines close to family and personal history that deal with e.g. historical phenomena that influenced the lives of ancestors and backgrounds for source materials. Genos also publishes articles on archives and source materials, research findings, book reviews, discussions and current articles related to genealogy.
Guidelines for Authors
Offered articles are sent as Word text files by e-mail to the editorial board of Genos. Published material is divided into different categories and one can offer one's text to any of them: peer reviewed articles, non-peer reviewed articles, bulletins and book reviews. Genos is categorized in the Publication Forum at level JUFO 1 and it complies with the conditions of peer review as defined by The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (JUFO).
Genosreaches about 8500 subscribers interested in genealogy and history four times a year in Finland and abroad. In addition to subscriptions, Genos is available in several libraries across Finland.
The Society sells advertisement space according to the following price list:

- Inside page, 1/2 horizontal (150 x 105 mm) 300 €
- Inside page, 1/2 vertical (65 x 210 mm) 300 €
- Inside page, 1/4 vertical (65 x 105 mm) 200 €

VAT of 24% is added to the prices.

Ads are delivered as print-ready, high-resolution PDF files to the editorial secretary of Genos (email@example.com). Cancellations are to be made in writing. Any reclamations about layout and typography must be made in writing within 14 days of the publication of the journal. The journal's liability for errors or the omission of an ad is limited to a maximum of the ad price.
The publication is subject to VAT. Cost increases resulting from the law, regulations or official measures will increase the prices accordingly from the moment the regulations come into force.
An annual subscription to the print version of the journal Genos can be made in the Genealogy online store. An annual subscription delivered to Finland is 52 €/year and internationally is 67 €/year. The order is valid for the duration of one calendar year at a time. If you want to cancel your subscription, you should do so before the beginning of the next calendar year or at the latest before the first issue of the next year is published. Cancellations should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Single Issues of Genos
Single issues of Genos are available in print from Tiedekirja and as digital publications from the Genealogy online store. Members of the Society can read all issues from 1930 onward for free using the SukuHaku service.
